I
have been engaged in my prime interest of ceramics, life drawing and
general craft activities for the past 20 years. Experimenting both
two and three dimensionally with a vast array of materials, it is
with clay I found the most satisfying and expressive. I enjoy
emphasising surface texture, each piece is transitional, a bridge to
the next stage of learning something new.
Living at Rockhouse Bank
Farm in Normans Bay, the beauty of the environment provides many
natural sources of interest for creating my work.
Obtaining a qualification to teach adults at Sussex Downs
College, Lewes Campus together with a City and Guilds in ceramics, I
now enjoy passing on my skills and experience to enthusiastic
students, running hand-building classes from my studio here on the
farm.
Having bred Alpacas for their fleeces in
the past four years, I now have a wonderful collection of 100% spun wool along with
hand knitted gloves, hats, scarves, boleros and fleeces for sale for
hand-knitting and felting.
Receiving many commissions for my work, I have never ceased to be
amazed at the spectrum of people that show an interest in the
preservation of craft skills.
We have a small showroom, showcasing ceramics, art, Alpaca
products, wood turning and unique gifts for sale all hand crafted by
local artists, view by appointment only.
